The Airport Commission advises the City Council on matters concerning the Torrance Airport in the areas of development of airport facilities, aeronautical leases of airport land, airport special events, and airport noise.

The Commission on Aging addresses the needs and concerns of older adults in our community. It also serves as a voice for seniors, helping ensure their needs and perspectives are represented in the community.
The Torrance Cultural Arts Commission advises the City Council on arts and culture in Torrance. It helps guide decisions that support artistic, cultural, and creative opportunities in the community.
The Environmental Quality and Energy Conservation Commission advises on issues that affect the community’s environment and quality of life.
The Historic Preservation Commission reviews and provides guidance on properties that are seeking historic designation or are already designated as historic resources.
The Library Commission advises the City Council on the operation of the Torrance library system. It represents library users, works with local schools and community partners, promotes library services, and encourages public and legislative support.
The License Review Board reviews business license applications and handles license revocations in Torrance. They approve new business licenses and revoke existing licenses when necessary.
The Measure SST Citizens’ Oversight Committee advises the City Council on the use of Measure SST funds. It reviews the annual budget, revenue and spending reports, and the independent audit to help ensure transparency and accountability.
The Parks and Recreation Commission advises the City Council on matters concerning public parks and recreation programs, including the acquisition of land, equipment, and facilities, and improvements to operations and administration.
The Planning Commission advises the City Council and holds public hearings on land use and development issues in the community.
The Social Services Commission addresses issues concerning the City's veterans, homeless population, adults with developmental disabilities, and children with special needs.
The Traffic Commission advises the City Council on street and traffic improvements. This includes recommendations on speed limits, transit and truck routes, crossing guard locations, and changes to the street system.
The Water Commission advises the City Council on water policies and helps ensure reliable, high-quality water service at the lowest possible cost. It works with City staff on major infrastructure improvements outlined in the Water System Master Plan.
The Torrance Youth Council advises the City Council on issues that affect young people in Torrance. It is made up of student representatives from local high schools, El Camino College, the California Academy of Math and Science, and members at large.
