Tech Committee

The purpose of the Tech Committee is to achieve the following:

  • Identify limiting factors to tech attraction and retention
  • Develop strategies to attract and retain tech businesses
  • Create tools to better market Torrance for tech business attraction
  • Foster relationships among tech businesses

The Tech Committee acts in an advisory capacity to the Torrance Office of Economic Development and the City.

The group roughly meets quarterly and allows for participants not only to connect with each other, but to hear updates from City Officials and Staff as well as receive information from business service partners and major project developers.  

The group includes a broad range of “Tech” businesses that includes Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace & Defense, Biotech and Life Sciences, Hardware and Software Development, Mobility, Engineering, and really a widely encompassing range of “Tech” development and use.
