Splash Pad at Wilson Park

The Splash Pad will open Saturday, May 23 - Monday, September 7, 2026. 

 

The Splash Pad is an unsupervised facility, and all users do so at their own risk.  The Splash Pad is open to the public, and reservations are not accepted. Summer Splash Pad hours are from 10:00 a.m. to sunset daily when open.

Rules and Regulations

Please help make everyone's Splash Pad experience fun and safe by adhering to the rules below. The following rules are for your protection and the safe and sanitary operation of the Splash Pad. The Community Services Department reserves the right to remove individuals from the premises who fail to comply with these rules and regulations:

  • Having fun and laughing are strongly encouraged!
  • To start the Splash Pad, touch the Activator button on the top of the stainless-steel pole.
  • Please do not sit on, stand, cover, or block any water jets.
  • Running, pushing, rough play and foul language is not allowed.
  • Swim diapers or rubber pants are required for children who are not potty trained.
  • Non-swim diapers are not permitted in the water area.
  • Street shoes are not allowed, although water shoes are acceptable.
  • Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older at all times.
  • No food, drink or gum allowed on the Splash Pad.
  • No glass containers of any kind allowed on or near the Splash Pad.
  • No pets or animals allowed on the Splash Pad.
  • Wheeled vehicles such as skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles, scooters, etc. are not allowed on the Splash Pad.
  • Wheelchairs are allowed.
  • No athletic equipment, pool toys, beach balls, noodles, etc. allowed on the Splash Pad.
  • The Splash Pad is designed for recreation purposes and not for bathing. Soaps, detergents, and shampoos are not allowed.
  • Water is chlorinated and recirculated through a filtration system. Please do not drink the water.
  • Please utilize the restrooms provided.
  • Splash Pad may be closed at any time due to weather, maintenance, or other Park activities.
  • Park rules must be adhered to at all times. (TMC 49.2.7)

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the operating hours of the Splash Pad?
    • Currently, the operating hours for the Splash Pad are 10 AM to dusk from Memorial Day weekend to the end of September. The Splash Pad will not be open during inclement or cold weather.
  • Will the new bathrooms be open all day at the park?
    • The restrooms will be open for public use during the day, and closed in the evening hours.
  • What happens if the Splash Pad doesn’t come on, what do we do?
    • If there are any issues with the Splash Pad or it doesn’t come on during the operating hours, then please contact the Park Services Division at 310-781-6901.
  • Will there be benches or seating available for us to enjoy watching our children?
    • With the opening of the new Splash Pad, staff will be evaluating the usage pattern in order to determine if benches will be needed, and if so, determine how many benches will be needed to accommodate this usage.
  • Can anyone play in the fountain as it seems to be clean water?
    • No, the fountain is not a water play area, and everyone is to keep out of the fountain.
  • Can I reserve the Splash Pad for my child’s party?
    • No, the Splash Pad is open to the public during the operating hours, and reservations are not accepted.
