Arrest of Interest Seeking Additional Victims

The Torrance Police Department Sex Crimes detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify additional victims and witnesses, following the arrest of 28-year-old babysitter Vincent Smith.
On December 9, 2025, investigators arrested Smith for 288(a) PC – Lewd and Lascivious acts with a child under 14. On December 11, 2025, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office filed two counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14. These charges are directly related to conduct which are alleged to have occurred while Smith was employed as a hired babysitter in the Los Angeles area.
Smith is known to advertise childcare services on online marketplaces which assist in connecting families with caregivers. He additionally reportedly offers snowboard instruction and operates a “snowboard club” for children. He is believed to have worked in various locations across the United States.
Prior to his recent arrest, Smith additionally had felony charges filed against him for sexual assault on a child while in a position of trust in Colorado Springs, Colorado. That case is still ongoing at this time, however Smith posted bond, and was ordered not to leave the state of Colorado or be around children under the age of 18 following his release. Smith remains in custody at this time in Los Angeles County.
Smith is described as a black male adult, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 230 pounds, with brown eyes, and brown dreadlocked hair with blonde tips. A photograph of Smith is being released because detectives believe there are additional victims of unreported sexual assaults.
