The October 17th lecture will be presented by Don Weiss, former Chief B-2 Test Pilot at Northrop Grumman and retired U.S. Marine Corps Colonel.
In 2006, the B-2 Radar Modernization Program (RMP) slipped a major milestone. Following a brief review of tactical radar system operating features of the presenter's experience, this talk will explore troubles that were encountered and what was done to mitigate them, from the RMP's genesis to the program's successful completion of its first phase in 2008. Topics will include the need for an RMP, key aspects of program plans, system integration, and flight test events, as well as flight test lessons for other avionic modification and test programs.
