Middle School Programs

We offer teen programs for middle school students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades that provide fun, creative, and healthy activities in a safe, supervised environment. These programs provide teens with opportunities to socialize, build friendships, and have positive experiences. Programs and activities include:

Co-Rec Teen Night Out

Co-Rec Teen Night Out with games, music, fun and more! Must be currently in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade and attend a Torrance school or live in Torrance.

Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

  • Friday, May 29 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm
  • Ken Miller Recreation Center-3330 Civic Center Drive
  • $5 per student (Must be a current Torrance Middle School Student) 

 

Babysitting Preparedness Course

This course is designed for youth aged 11 to 14 looking for babysitting preparedness for children ages 3 and up.

Ages: 11-14
Focus: Caring for children ages 3 and up

What You’ll Learn

  • Planning for a babysitting job
  • Understanding children of all ages
  • Choosing toys and games
  • Planning fun recreational activities
  • Accident prevention and child safety training

What You Receive

  • Notebook with class materials
  • Babysitting tote
  • Emergency contact sheets

  • Certificate of Completion

What to Bring

  • Comfortable clothing
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Sack lunch and drink
