On Sunday, October 4, 2026, at approximately 12:45 a.m. officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 3200 block of Danaha Street, where a large party was taking place.

Upon arrival, police located an adult female who sustained a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported by the Torrance Fire Department for medical treatment of a non-life-threatening injury and is expected to make a full recovery.

Officers immediately secured the area and interviewed numerous witnesses. Detectives have worked tirelessly throughout the weekend reviewing video evidence, collecting witness statements and pursuing investigative leads to identify and locate the suspect involved believed to be a Black male approximately 16-20 years old.

During the altercation, gunfire occurred and the victim was grazed. At this time, investigators have not identified any information that this was a random act of violence or that there is an ongoing threat to the surrounding community.
