Working Together for a Safer Torrance

Neighborhood Watch

Neighborhood Watch is a community-based crime prevention program that brings residents and police together to reduce crime and strengthen neighborhoods. Through active participation and shared responsibility, neighbors learn how to identify and report suspicious activity, improve communication, and enhance safety on their blocks.

Each group is organized by block, with a designated Block Captain serving as the point of contact. An initial meeting is coordinated with a representative from the Torrance Police Department, where participants are introduced to crime prevention techniques and local safety trends. Follow-up meetings and materials support ongoing engagement and collaboration.
