Sharon Kalani was first elected to the Torrance City Council for District 4 on March 3, 2020, and was re-elected for a second term on March 5, 2024.
Kalani currently serves as Chair of the Employee Relations and Public Safety Committee and is a member of the Armed Forces Day Ad Hoc Committee, Finance and Governmental Operations Committee, and Transportation Committee. She has previously served on the Strategic Plan Committee and the Citizen Development and Enrichment Committee.
Kalani has over 25 years of experience in banking and previously served as a Senior Vice President. She now works as a trusted advisor at Green Hills Memorial Park, where she has earned top performance awards for her work with families.
Kalani is also a judge for The International Cat Association and helped create a youth program that teaches responsible animal care. She has served as Chair and Board member of the Torrance South Bay YMCA and received its Service Above Self award. She has volunteered at Torrance Memorial Hospital and supports local students through scholarships.
Kalani has been married for over 36 years. She and her husband raised two daughters in Torrance and are proud grandparents.
