Naming our city’s landmarks is a reflection of our collective identity. To honor this importance, we use a public-input process to ensure every facility name resonates with the spirit of our residents.
The Armed Forces Day Committee provides direction on the planning and programming for the Armed Forces Day Parade and Celebration.
The Citizen Development and Enrichment Committee oversees libraries, parks, recreation, cultural programs, schools, senior and youth services, and employment opportunities.
The Community Planning and Design Committee helps guide how our city grows. They review the City’s General Plan and make decisions about building, land use, and the environment.
The Employee Relations and Public Safety Committee oversees fair hiring, pay, and working conditions for city staff. It also handles community safety services, including police, fire, building safety, streets, water, trash, and animal control.
The Federal Legislative Advocacy Committee discusses Priority Projects for the City and organizes trips to Congress and State members to obtain support for funding.
The Finance and Governmental Operations Committee focuses on how the City manages its money and runs its day-to-day operations. This includes accounting, auditing, budgeting procedures, and how city funds are spent.
The State Legislative Advocacy Committee speaks up for our community at the state level. It tracks new legislation and works with lawmakers to make sure our city's interests are heard.
The Strategic Plan Committee develops and updates the City’s strategic plan to set priorities and use resources wisely, ensuring key goals reflect the community’s needs.
The Transportation Committee has jurisdiction over matters relating to ground and air transportation systems, street circulation and environmental consequences thereof.
