We’re excited to bring back Healthy Torrance with a new app-based system that makes it easier to track your progress and stay engaged. Participants can earn prizes throughout the program based on different challenges and achievements, so sign up and get moving!
The app can automatically track your steps by syncing with your device. You can also manually enter steps, convert other activities into steps using a variety of activity options, and track water intake, mindfulness activities, mood, and more.
Watch for special challenges throughout the program to earn points and stay motivated.
We encourage all City of Torrance employees to take the first step and join the program.
Healthy Torrance is available through the Be Well app from Anthem and can be accessed through the mobile app or a web browser on your computer. The program is free and open to all City of Torrance employees, regardless of healthcare provider.
Food for Thought Challenge
The second six-week challenge starts Sunday, May 17, and runs through Saturday, June 27. You can join the challenge anytime, but joining at the start of the challenge allows you to earn more points.
About the challenge:
During this 6-week challenge, you’ll focus on your physical and emotional health while being awarded points. You’ll use Walker Tracker’s tools to track your physical activity, mood, and nutrition choices each day (nutrition and mood entries are always private). You can also post updates to your news feed on how you’re doing, share healthy strategies and photos with other participants, and watch your progress on the challenge leaderboard. It’s all about participation, diligence, and having fun!
