Victim Support Services
The Torrance Victim Support Program ensures that compassionate, accessible services are available to individuals impacted by crime. Our goal is to assist victims through the aftermath of traumatic events and support their meaningful participation in the criminal justice process.
The program brings together mental health professionals and public safety personnel to provide a coordinated response to victims and their families. We also work closely with partner agencies including the court system, social services, and community-based organizations.
Program Services Include:
- Crisis Intervention
Emotional support immediately following a crime to help victims manage the initial trauma.
- Victim Compensation Assistance
Help with completing and submitting claims to the California Victim Compensation Board.
- Counseling Services
Professional counseling to address the emotional and psychological impact of victimization.
- Crime Prevention Information
Educational materials and safety tips to help prevent future victimization.
- Criminal Justice Orientation & Court Support
Guidance on navigating the legal process, case status updates, and court accompaniment.
- Follow-Up Support
Ongoing contact to ensure continued access to services and support throughout recovery.

VINE – Victim Information & Notification Everyday
VINE is a free, anonymous service that provides victims with real-time custody status updates for offenders in the LA County Jail. Information is available 24/7, in English and Spanish, and updated every 15 minutes.
