The Fire Explorer Program is your first step toward a career in firefighting. Open to youth ages 16–20, this hands-on program gives participants a unique chance to learn about the fire service, develop leadership skills, and serve their community – all under the guidance of experienced firefighters.
As a Fire Explorer, you’ll:

Participate in drills and training in firefighting techniques

Learn to operate equipment like hoses and ladders

Assist with fire prevention and public education

Take part in ride-alongs to experience life at the firehouse

Build skills in career, character, service, life, and leadership
Join the Grow Your Own Path Program
Fire Exploring is the first step in our “Grow Your Own” program, preparing you to become an Ambulance Operator and eventually a Firefighter.
