Inclement Weather

Street sweeping may be canceled on a day that it is raining. If streets are too wet, sweepers cannot remove debris. On a rain day, we may attempt to notify the public of canceled street sweeping via social media, TorranceAlerts, and the City website.

However, please always adhere to the posted signs for street sweeping to avoid a citation.

Parking Enforcement

Street sweeping parking regulations help keep vehicles off the street so sweepers can access the curb and gutter.

  • All posted street sweeping restrictions are enforced
  • Citation amount: $52
  • Red, blue, white, yellow, and green curbs are always enforced, including holidays

Additional enforcement details and common questions are provided below.

Common Street Sweeping Questions

Who is ACE Parking?
ACE Parking is the City of Torrance’s contracted provider for street sweeping parking enforcement. Torrance Police Parking Enforcement has not been replaced.

Can I park after the street sweeper passes?
Generally, yes. However, residents are advised to follow posted parking restrictions and avoid parking during the full restricted time window.

What if the street sweeper did not come by my street?
All City street sweepers are GPS-tracked. If you receive a citation and believe the sweeper did not pass, you may contest the citation for review.

Are there exemptions to street sweeping parking restrictions?
No. Disabled placards, temporary stops, or being out of town do not provide exemptions from street sweeping violations.
