Since 2010 the City of Torrance Cultural Services Division has been working with the community and the Division's teaching artists to create hand-painted tiles for a variety of projects throughout the City. 

SEASISDE HEROES PARK

The City of Torrance developed Seaside Heroes Park and dedicated it on January 22, 2011. Prior to the opening, the community was invited to paint a tile to be incorporated into a colorful band installed around the pillars at both entrances.  Artist Heidi Ulbrich  facilitated the project. 

PUEBLO PARK

Address: 2292 Del Amo Blvd, Torrance, CA 90501

In 2014, the Cultural Services Division held an event for community members around Pueblo Park to create unique tiles to be used through the park. The event was free and all materials were provided. The program was lead by artist Karen Sochar.
