By reducing the need for in-person visits, we’re saving you time, streamlining the process, and ensuring your projects move forward efficiently.

Effective January 5, 2026, the Building and Safety Division will be accepting electronic submittal/plan review and will transition entirely to a digital plan check and permit submittal process. Paper plans and physical submittals will no longer be accepted after this date.

Before submitting an application to the Building and Safety Division, please ensure you have obtained Zoning Clearance from the Environmental or Planning Division. Proof of this clearance will be required with your permit application. Failure to secure Zoning Clearance in advance may result in project delays.

Once you obtain Zoning Clearance, you may submit your permit application, zoning clearance and construction plans to our Building and Safety Division through our Citizen Access Portal. Please note that separate permits/submittal is required for trades permit (i.e. mechanical, electrical, plumbing and etc.)
