Maintaining Torrance's Quality of Life Services
The City of Torrance continually strives to maintain the quality of life you expect and deserve. In a Resident Surveys conducted this year, over 93% of residents rated Torrance as an excellent or good place to live.
However, in the last few years alone, Sacramento and D.C. politicians have taken millions of dollars in funding and local tax revenue away from the City. In fact, of the last two county sales tax increases passed, only 12 cents on the dollar is being returned to Torrance.
Recently residents have identified maintaining emergency response times and keeping neighborhoods and public areas safe as their top priorities. Residents also identified local priorities that they would like the City to continue to address, including:
- Maintaining 911 emergency response
- Maintaining fire and paramedic services
- Maintaining safe schools
- Keeping parks and public areas safe and clean
- Protecting the City's long-term financial stability
- Repairing streets and potholes
