What is the Management Aide/Assistant Program (MAP)?

The City of Torrance Management Aides/ Assistants are entry-level positions for current graduate college students or recent graduates in a Master’s degree program, preferably with a minimum of one year paid or unpaid experience in the public sector and an interest in pursuing a career in public administration. Job responsibilities may vary depending on assignment.

What can I expect from MAP?

The Management Aide/ Assistant Program provides support and assistance to management personnel and performs assignments ranging from routine administrative tasks to more complex and varied professional, confidential and specialized assignments.

MAP offers a network of peer support composed of previous and current interns across various departments within the City. Further, MAP provides a welcoming environment where interns gain mentorship and develop professional relationships with senior staff and department directors based on assignments.
