In an abundance of caution, the City of Torrance is hosting a virtual community meeting to discuss the issue of homeless in the City. All residents are invited to partake in the meeting, however they will not be able to share their videos or screens. There will be video and screen sharing capabilities for speakers only.
Thursday, May 28th | 5:30 P.M. - 6:30 P.M.
Topic: Homelessness in North Torrance
5:30 – 5:40 P.M. : Staff Introductions by Katie Wand, City Manager’s Office
5:40 – 5:50 P.M. : Presentation by Community Services Director John Jones and Administrative Services Manager Jason Minter on the Park Ambassador Program and the Park Ranger Program
5:50 – 6:00 P.M. : Presentation by Torrance Police Sergeant David Maitlen and Traffic/Police Operations Supervisor Luz Fierro on Homelessness in Vehicles
6:00 – 6:30 P.M. : Q&A – City Staff will be available to answer questions & concerns from members of the public
Residents will be able to participate and ask questions in a variety of ways:
1. By email before the meeting

3. During the meeting on Zoom using the "Q&A" feature.
- Questions can be typed and answered by Staff wither in writing or answered live during the meeting.
A follow-up email will be sent to all registered participants after the meeting ends with all Q&As.
