Torrance Fire Department Press Release on Benzene Levels
Press Release from the Torrance Fire Department -
Since Wednesday January 8, 2020 the Torrance Fire Department in cooperation with all City of Torrance Departments have coordinated with local, state and federal agencies to monitor the West Torrance area for concerns related to benzene.
On Friday January 10, 2020 the Torrance Fire Department deployed the TFD Hazardous Materials team to the West Torrance High School to conduct an evaluation of the area around the school. The TFD team determined there were no immediate threats to the health, safety and well-being of the West Torrance community, which was consistent with the Torrance Air website readings.
