On Thursday, September 19, 2019 at approximately 12:03 PM, Torrance Police Officers along with the Torrance Fire Department responded to the 25300 block of Crenshaw Boulevard in regard to an airplane that collided into a building.
Upon arrival, Officers were able to assist both passengers out of the plane. The Torrance Fire Department treated one passenger on scene and was later transported to a local hospital for further treatment. Unfortunately, one male succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no reports of injuries to any of the employees or customers within the building.
Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are currently on scene and will be handling the follow up investigation.
The identity of the deceased is pending confirmation by investigators, as well as notification to next of kin.
It does not appear that this investigation will impede traffic conditions.
