Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. Relocation
Torrance, Calif., Oct. 2, 2018 – The announcement by Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. of the relocation of its American Headquarters to Michigan next spring comes as a disappointment to the City of Torrance. The City is proud of the relationship it has enjoyed with Alpine since the establishment of their second overseas marketing and sales affiliate in 1978. When Alpine established its American Headquarters on Gramercy in 1981, the City welcomed their expansion. More recently, Torrance supported Alpine in its efforts to access technology that will improve regional mobility & further the progress towards the development of autonomous vehicles. With the understanding that the company will retain a presence in Torrance, the City will continue to support its operations.
Mayor Patrick Furey said, “Torrance is a progressive city. Although we are disappointed with Alpine’s announcement, Torrance continues to welcome corporations to plant roots, grow or expand in our community.”
