Bona-fide Torrance-based, non-profit groups may submit events to be included in the Torrance citywide calendar pending approval. The City of Torrance Citywide Calendar System Administrator (Office of Cable and Community Relations) is responsible for determining which events are appropriate for posting and then approving a calendar entry. The administrator also has the capability to submit the event to other calendars so that your event may be posted on more than one calendar if appropriate. Events must occur within Torrance city limits to be considered for inclusion and submitted within the categories already identified within the calendar. FREE ACTING WORKSHOP (South Bay Conservatory School of the Arts)

South Bay Conservatory School of the Arts presents FREE ACTING WORKSHOP in the Torrance Cultural Arts Center Garden Room, 3330 Civic Center Drive.

Professional actor Chrystee Pharris will lead the workshop.  Chrystee has been in the entertainment business for over 20 years and helped students break into the business with her Business of Acting workshops, which she gives around the country.  Most of her students book a show within the first 6 months of working with her.  You will learn; How to get an audition without an agent, How to tell if an agent, manager, or casting director is credible, Which casting sites are legit, Headshot tips to get you in the door, and How to memorize lines easily.

Be ready to get up and practice monologues and scene work with Chrystee’s coaching and guidance.  Bring your own material, or practice your cold-reading skills with provided material.

Who should attend? Tweens, teens, and adults who are considering a career in acting will all learn tips on auditioning, acting, memorizing lines, and cold readings.  All experience levels are welcome.
