Madrona Marsh Nature Center and Preserve, 3201 Plaza Del Amo, Torrance
Join Cindy Reid every 4th Tuesday & 4th Wednesday of every month from 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon (rain or shine) for a hands-on science nature class. Emphasis will be placed on caring for the natural world and being good stewards of the planet. This month's topic will be on bats. The first hour will be in the classroom for stories, a craft and science including live animals or plants and microscope use. The second hour will be out on the Madrona Marsh Preserve to search for the things that we just studied. You will need to register for each class starting on the first of that month. Only 12 children may attend each class. We will do our best to be fair. A wait list up to 4 children will be added in case of cancellations. The participating children may be signed-in and dropped off for the first hour; parents may watch quietly in the back of the classroom. No younger siblings will be allowed in the classroom, but they are welcome to join us for the marsh walk. Ages 6-8 years old. $5 donation requested per student.
