Wednesday, May 29, 2013 | 10:00 AM - Noon
Madrona Marsh Nature Center and Preserve, 3201 Plaza del Amo, Torrance
Join Cindy Reid every 4th Tuesday and Wednesday of every month from 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon (rain or shine) for a hands-on science nature class. Emphasis will be placed on caring for the natural world and being good stewards of the planet. This month's topic will be spring flowers. The first hour will be in the classroom for stories, a craft and science including live animals or plants and microscope use. The second hour will be walking out on the marsh to search for the things that we just studied. You will need to register for each class, starting the first of that month. Only 12 children may attend each class. We will do our best to be fair. A wait list up to 4 children will be added in case of cancellations. The participating children may be signed-in and dropped off for the first hour; parents may watch quietly in the back of the classroom. No younger siblings will be allowed in the classroom, but they are welcome to join us for the marsh walk. Ages 6-8 years. $5 donation requested per students. To register and for more information please contact the Madrona Marsh Nature Center at 310-782-3989.
