Madrona Marsh Nature Center & Preserve, 3201 Plaza Del Amo, Torrance CA 90503
Starting June 1, 2012, 50 person limit for this program. You must register to attend. You may register on Saturdays at 12 noon for the following Saturday's Habitat Restoration Program or you may register by contacting the Madrona Marsh Nature Center at 310-782-3989. If you plan to attend with a group each person must individually sign up. If you no show after you have signed up, you may not sign up again for 2 weeks. Join us for our restoration program every Saturday from 8:45 a.m. - 12 noon on the Preserve planting natives, weeding, propagating or maybe watering new plants. Wear closed toe shoes, bring gloves and be ready to work. Refreshments are provided. Rain cancels this program. Late comers will be sent away. If you are 15 years or younger you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For more information please contact the Madrona Marsh Nature Center at 310-782-3989.

The 28th annual Richard Sherman Trio is a benefit jazz concert for Seaside Community Church in Torrance. Support of this event over the years has enabled Seaside to provide facilities for community groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Champion Youth Dance, The Department of Child and Family Services, as well as underwrite thousands of dollars of support towards domestic violence shelters, outreach for Hepi Indians, and rebuilding homes in Nicaragua.

The After School Program is geared towards youth in elementary and middle schools. This recreation program is designed to promote self-esteem through group interaction and self-expression. The program offers games, sports, music, group discussions, guest speakers and a wide variety of activities. Structured time is set aside for homework each day. This is not a tutorial based program.

This program is based on a ratio of one staff member per ten youth at Elementary School and one staff member per thirteen youth at Middle Schools. Enrollment is limited at all schools.

PLEASE NOTE: The After School Club Program is designed for Torrance Residents. Torrance residents will have the first opportunity to register for the program. After the resident registration, Non-Torrance residents will have an opportunity to register for any remaining spaces.

The After School Club Program follows the TUSD calendar and meets on campus Monday-Friday after school until 6:00 p.m. The program is offered at the following schools:
