Join the Torrance Historical Society for a Summer Stroll -- a docent-led tour into some of the hip new restaurants in Old Torrance for a sip & a snack, and a peek into the past behind the brick and mortar.
When Torrance was founded 100 years ago, business began to build. Downtown Torrance, which was in the center of the original footprint of the City, soon became the heartbeat of the town. A century later, many a business has come and gone through those old buildings - they each have a story to tell.
Not only will you learn the building’s history, you'll see old photos showing the “before”, as you stand in the “now.”
Some of the buildings on tour include - The Red Car, Tortilla Cantina, BFD, Just Luigi’s, Amore Vino, Torrance Bakery, and more.
This fundraising event has limited space and is for those 21years-of-age, and older. Must RSVP by Monday, Aug. 6th!

Put a Tomcat, Blackbird and Nighthawk in YOUR room!
During this special summer session on Wednesday, August 29th, the Western Museum of Flight (WMoF) and Pacific Coast Hobbies will help you create and build these models of historic American aviation. You will take home the model you build.
The F-14 Tomcat was a supersonic, twin-engine, two-seat, variable-sweep wing fighter aircraft developed for the U. S. Navy. The SR-71 "Blackbird" was a long-range, Mach 3 aircraft developed by black ops project of Lockheed Skunk Works. The F-117 Nighthawk was a single-seat, twin-engine stealth ground-attack aircraft operated by the U. S. Air Force.
This event is presented with cooperation of Pacific Coast Hobbies whose staff will be on hand to assist with model building and answer technical questions. You can build as many models as you like. Each model is $10 but it’s yours to keep!
Don't forget you also receive free admission and a guided tour of the WMoF.
Please email the museum at info@wmof.com or call 310-326-9544 to make your reservation. Pay at the door. Registration deadline is August 29th.
