You will enjoy hearing from Eric Nelson, editor of "Los Angeles Aviation to 1940", talk about aviation from 1910-1939 in LA County. Rosanne Cash shares her recollections growing up as Johnny Cash's eldest daughter and coming into her own as a performer, daughter, and mother in a long-awaited memoir, entitled Composed (Viking Publish), which will go on sale August 10th, 2010. Cash will bring her multi-city book tour to Torrance with an appearance at Borders (3700 Torrance Blvd.) on Tuesday, August 17th at 7 p.m. Ms. Cash will read selections from Composed, sign copies, and perform a few songs at select stops. Attendees will be treated to personal anecdotes from Cash's extraordinary life that she tells in Composed with the trademark intelligence, compassion, humor, and honesty that also informs her songwriting. Composed has been reviewed by Kirkus Book Reviews ("… beautifully written meditations on love, death, family, and redemption.") and Publishers Weekly ("… a rare treat" that "sheds clear light on her talent and drive").

The Lamplighters is an international movement for incest recovery, child sexual abuse, recovery from incest, childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape and sexual assault. The first local meeting will be today at 24050 Madison Street, Suite 216, Torrance, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday. The local Torrance group will meet the last Sunday of every month. The group is facilitated by Chaplain Bonnie Leopold. Chaplain Leopold now serves as Chaplain Intern at Torrance Memorial Hospital, Home Health and Hospice in Torrance.
