Don’t spend Summer at home! Come to summer camp and enjoy fun filled days participating in indoor crafts, outdoor games, walking field trips and an excursion every week! Torrance Summer Camps will hold 10 weekly sessions from Monday, June 18, 2012 to Friday, August 24, 2012, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Fees range from $125 to $155 per week. Fun Camp, for ages 6-11, is held at Greenwood Park and La Romeria Park. Teen Camp, for ages 12-14, is held at Greenwood Park. Sports Camp, for ages 7-13, is held at Wilson Park. Extended Care is also available for Camps. Morning Care is 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Fees are $20 for residents and $25 for non-residents. "Friday Fun" is a hands-on program for preschoolers, ages 3-6 years and their parents or guardians. The program will be offered at no charge every Friday from 10-12:00 p.m. Call Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. for that week's Friday Fun program. The program will incorporate story time, science, art and a tour emphasizing the chosen topic. Some weeks there will also be potting or other activities. The topics emphasize respect for all living things and prepare the children (and parents) to be good stewards of the planet. Free! Donations accepted. Pre-registration is required. Recreation staff will be leading and supervising activities and crafts at no cost! Aquacade 2012 - Splish, Splash, Gotta' Dance - 100 Years of Making Waves is a celebration of the City's 100 Birthday. It features 50 Synchronized swimmers ages 5 years to 16 years old. The show moves through the decades of the last 100 years using music, dance and Synchronized swimming to portray the history of the City.
