The City of Torrance Community Services Department in partnership with The Home Depot will be hosting the Carpenter Wagon Program this summer. Staff will help children ages 6-14 create a variety of wood craft projects. Parents/guardians must be present in order for the child to participate. Sessions are limited to 20 children per session and are offered on a first come first served basis. Registration will be taken 10 minutes prior to the start of each session. The City of Torrance Community Services Department in partnership with The Home Depot will be hosting the Carpenter Wagon Program this summer. Staff will help children ages 6-14 create a variety of wood craft projects. Parents/guardians must be present in order for the child to participate. Sessions are limited to 20 children per session and are offered on a first come first served basis. Registration will be taken 10 minutes prior to the start of each session. Put on your tennies and join the Torrance Historical Society for a Walking Tour of historic Old Torrance. It's FREE, FUN, and FULL of history! There is not time like the present to learn about the past - especially in Torrance. This docent-led tour begins at the Torrance Historical Museum, and will point out the historic landmarks of Downtown Torrance. You will also learn how the City and some of the streets in Downtown got their name, where the first public library originated, the original boundaries of the City, where Buffy the Vampire Slayer was filmed and more. The tour is an easy, but brisk walk covering eight blocks. It's open to the public, requires no reservations, and is hosted on the fourth Sunday of every month, May - October. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Bring your camera, and a friend!
