Madrona Marsh Nature Center and Preserve, 3201 Plaza Del Amo, Torrance
Join us for our Habitat Restoration Program every Saturday of every month from 8:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on the Madrona Marsh Preserve planting natives, weeding, propagating or maybe watering new plants. Wear closed toe shoes, bring gloves and be ready to work. Refreshments are provided. Rain or a holiday that fall on a Saturday cancels this program. Be on time - late comers will not be able to work. Join us for the Art in Nature Workshop, occurring on Wednesday, August 20, and Saturday, August 23, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Wednesday's workshop will be an art demonstration followed by a inspiring stroll on the Madrona Marsh Preserve. On Saturday, join Suzanne Gibson for a 2 hour plein air workshop on the Preserve, painting the wonders of nature. All art supplies will be provided with the option of purchasing your own kit. All ages are welcome to participate in this program. $10 per person to attend both workshops. Pre-registration is recommended. You'll see how living things interact in their habitat and learn the value of wetlands in our urban environment. This walk occurs on the 4th Saturday and Sunday of every month from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. All are welcome. Free! Donation accepted.
