Rite Aid at 2240 Sepulveda BLVD, Torrance, CA
The Skin Cancer Foundation’s Road to Healthy Skin Tour, presented by Rite Aid, will be in Torrance providing free skin cancer screenings on Aug. 21st. Screenings are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Educational materials that explain how to perform monthly skin checks at home and the proper ways to practice sun protection are provided to Tour participants, along with sunscreen samples and other giveaways. The screenings will be conducted by local dermatologists who have donated their time and services to the Foundation. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the US, with more than 3.5 million cases diagnosed annually. The goal of the Tour is to save lives by detecting skin cancers early on and educating the public about skin cancer prevention by means of sun protection and the need for prompt, effective treatment. The Skin Cancer Foundation’s Road to Healthy Skin Tour, presented by Rite Aid, receives additional support from Energizer Personal Care – the makers of Banana Boat® and Hawaiian Tropic® brand sunscreens – Leo Pharma Inc., LLumar Window Films® and BASF Corporation.
