Don’t spend Summer at home! Come to summer camp and enjoy fun filled days participating in indoor crafts, outdoor games, walking field trips and an excursion every week! Torrance Summer Camps Monday, June 24, 2013 – Friday, August 30, 2013 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Fees range from $130 to $155 per week. Summer Fun Camp Ages 6-11 Greenwood Park, 1520 Greenwood Avenue La Romeria Park, 19501 Inglewood Avenue Summer Teen Camp Ages 12-14 Greenwood Park, 1520 Greenwood Avenue Summer Sports Camp Ages 7-14 Wilson Park, 2200 Crenshaw Blvd. EXTENDED CARE: Is available for Torrance Summer Camps. Morning Care is 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Fees are $20 for residents and $25 for non-residents. After Care is 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Fees are $20 for residents and $25 for non-residents.

Madrona Marsh Nature Center and Preserve, 3201 Plaza del Amo, Torrance
Join Cindy Reid every 4th Tuesday and Wednesday of every month from 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon (rain or shine) for a hands-on science nature class. Emphasis will be placed on caring for the natural world and being good stewards of the planet. This month's topic will be Butterflies and Moths. The first hour will be in the classroom for stories, a craft and science including live animals or plants and microscope use. The second hour will be walking out on the Madrona Marsh Preserve to search for the things that we just studied. You will need to register for each class, starting the first of that month. Only 12 children may attend each class. We will do our best to be fair. A wait list up to 4 children may be signed-in and dropped off for the first hour; parents may watch quietly in the back of the classroom. No younger siblings will be allowed in the classroom, but they are welcome to join us for the marsh walk. Ages 6-8 years. $5 donation requested per student. Volunteers are needed for habitat restoration every Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Join the group and gain expertise about weeds of the South Bay.
