Join Cindy Reid every Friday for this educational, fun program called "Friday Fun." This is a hands-on program for preschoolers ages 3-6 years and their parents or guardians. The program is offered at no charge every Friday from 10 -11:30 a.m. The program incorporates story time, science, art and a tour emphasizing the chosen topic. Some weeks there will also be potting or other activities added. Topics (insects, animals or plants) emphasize respect for all living things and prepare children to be good stewards of the planet. 20 kids maximum. Pre-registration is required, please call the Nature Center to register (310)782-3989. $5 donation accepted.

Join us for our restoration program every Saturday from 8:45 a.m. - 12 noon on the Preserve planting natives, weeding, propagating or maybe watering new plants. Wear closed toe shoes, bring gloves and be ready to work. Refreshments are provided. Rain cancels this program. Late comers will be sent away.

L.A. County Public Works Department will host a free used motor oil and oil filter recycling event. In exchange for turning in used oil, participants will be rewarded with free oil filter and oil containers, shop towels, and funnels while supplies last. Those recycling oil filters will also get one new oil filter in exchange while supplies last.
