Join the Propagation Society and Linda Gonzales as we plant seeds for the future of the Preserve. Learn how to: prepare soil for planting on the Marsh, grow native plants for restoration and fund raising events at the Madrona Marsh, 'pot up' plants to larger containers, collect and 'clean' seeds and prune native plants in the nursery. This program occurs every Thursday. Best for Adults or College Age Students. FREE

Starting June 1, 2012, 50 person limit for this program. You must register to attend. You may register on Saturdays at 12 noon or you may register by calling the Nature Center at; (310)782-3989. If you plan to attend with a group each person must individually sign up. If you no show after you have signed up, you may not sign up again for 2 weeks.
Join us for our restoration program every Saturday from 8:45 a.m. - 12 noon on the Preserve planting natives, weeding, propagating or maybe watering new plants. Wear closed toe shoes, bring gloves and be ready to work. Refreshments are provided. Rain cancels this program. Late comers will be sent away. If you are 15 years or younger you must be accompnied by a parent or guardian.

For the past four centuries, spirits have played crucial roles in American and world history. Richard Foss, author, journalist, lecturer, and food historian will tell the tales of how rum and vodka have changed history and will discuss the importance of these beverages. Richard Foss is a food historian and journalist. He has written about food and drink for publications including Time Out, Easy Reader Newspaper, and Los Angeles CityBeat. Most recently he was a contributor to Food Cultures of the World Encyclopedia. This event is free. Seating is limited and is first-come, first-seated.
