12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose is a contemporary classic about a young man on trial for allegedly murdering his father. Although it seems to be an open and shut case, there is but one lone juror among the twelve who is not convinced that the boy is guilty. Please join CSUDH professor Connie Vadheim for entertaining and educational classes on various native plant topics. This class occurs the 1st Saturday of every month from 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon and repeats the following 1st Tuesday of every month from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Every month is a different topic - never the same class twice! Topic's range from 'Edible Seeds and Berries' to 'Chaparral Communities and Pruning Techniques'. This month's topic is Warfare in the Garden: how plants protect themselves from pests and invasions. After each presentation, Connie will lead the class through the Nature Center's Native Plant Garden to illustrate key points and further discussion. Handouts are included. This course will simplify it for you. Aperture, shutter speed and ISO made easy! Each student will receive individual attention to help them assess and improve their skills. Understand your camera and learn the essentials for creating a great image! 1. Camera settings, jpg and RAW. Explaining the need for calibrating your monitor and how its done. 2. Uploading and organizing images in your computer. Basic image processing (exposure and color correction). 3. * Field shoot in the Marsh (Sunday, 8:00am-12:30pm on March 24th) 4. "Friday Fun" is a hands-on program for pre-schoolers, ages 3-6 years and their parents or guardians. The program will be offered at no charge every Friday of every month from 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon. Best to register on Tuesday for that week's Friday Fun Program. The program will incorporate story time, science, art and a tour emphasizing the chosen topic. Some weeks there will also be potting and other activities. The topics emphasize respect for all living things and prepare the children (and parents) to be good stewards of the planet.
