"Friday Fun" is a hands-on program for preschoolers, ages 3-6 years and their parents or guardians. The program will be offered at no charge every Friday from 10-12:00 p.m. Call Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. for that week's Friday Fun program. The program will incorporate story time, science, art and a tour emphasizing the chosen topic. Some weeks there will also be potting or other activities. The topics emphasize respect for all living things and prepare the children (and parents) to be good stewards of the planet. Free! Donations accepted. Pre-registration is required. Aquacade 2012 - Splish, Splash, Gotta' Dance - 100 Years of Making Waves is a celebration of the City's 100 Birthday. It features 50 Synchronized swimmers ages 5 years to 16 years old. The show moves through the decades of the last 100 years using music, dance and Synchronized swimming to portray the history of the City.

Starting June 1, 2012, 50 person limit for this program. You must register to attend. You may register on Saturdays at 12 noon for the following Saturday's Habitat Restoration Program or you may register by contacting the Madrona Marsh Nature Center at 310-782-3989. If you plan to attend with a group each person must individually sign up. If you no show after you have signed up, you may not sign up again for 2 weeks. Join us for our restoration program every Saturday from 8:45 a.m. - 12 noon on the Preserve planting natives, weeding, propagating or maybe watering new plants. Wear closed toe shoes, bring gloves and be ready to work. Refreshments are provided. Rain cancels this program. Late comers will be sent away. If you are 15 years or younger you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Featuring : Bushtits, American and Lesser Goldfinches and Yellow-Rumped Warblers. A beginner's guide to birds, bird life and behavior. Each class will include a short presentation about the featured birds followed by a walk on the Preserve to look for them. Bring binoculars and wear comfortable shoes. This class occurs month on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Classes are limited to 20 students ages 9+. Pre-registration is required. Free! Donations accepted.
