A special exhibit, presented by the Fluorescent Mineral Society, will display the beautiful colors of rocks from all over the world under ultraviolet lights. This exhibit is one of the most comprehensive and varied collections of fluorescent minerals you will ever see in one place. There will also be ‘how to’ demonstrations such as bead working, sphere making, gem carving, glass bead making, workshops for children, and more.

Join Cindy Reid every Friday for this educational, fun program called "Friday Fun." This is a hands-on program for preschoolers ages 3-6 years and their parents or guardians. The program is offered at no charge every Friday from 10 -11:30 a.m. The program incorporates story time, science, art and a tour emphasizing the chosen topic. Some weeks there will also be potting or other activities added. Topics (insects, animals or plants) emphasize respect for all living things and prepare children to be good stewards of the planet. 20 kids maximum. Music Director and Conductor David Benoit will lead the multi-talented Asia America Youth Orchestra in their annual concert. This year, three very gifted young virtuoso soloists from the orchestra - Jessie Chen, violin; Sara Sithi-Amnuai, trumpet; Wes Wubbena, piano, along with the Asia America Youth Orchestra will delight you as they perform concerti by Haydn, Grieg, and a world debut concerto for violin composed by Mr. Benoit. Also featured will be excerpts from Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, A Tribute to Film Composer John Williams, and music by Chick Corea.

Tenor Ramon Vargas superbly embodies the role of the lovesick Nemorino. The beautiful but aloof Adina is sung by soprano Inva Mula. Recorded fall 2008, War Memorial Opera House, San Francisco.
