Saturday, January 19, 2013 | 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
WMoF 3315 Airport Dr. Torrance
Forty-five years later, we still remember our “friends” attack on the USS Liberty. In the middle of the Six Day War, June 8th, 1967, the Liberty was sailing in international waters when Israel Mirages fighter jets attacked. This is the lowest point in American-Israelis relations. An incident that has been somewhat “swept under the rug.” Once again, the Western Museum of Flight (WMoF) brings you THE eye witness account: American Donald Pageler was a on the Liberty DURING the attack as a classified communications specialist. Don will give us the real story. Five hours in American history. Thirty-four Americans killed, 171 injured and the Liberty badly maimed. Yet an event not widely known until recent years. As always, WMoF Members are free; non-members are $5, which also includes access to WMoF museum exhibits. Free parking. BTW, a WMoF membership (wmof.com/newmem.htm) can be yours for as little as $50 annually giving you one-year unlimited FREE admission to the WMoF museum, all the Celebrity Series Lectures, Quarterly Newsletters, access to the research library and access to Special Events.

Hey everyone! APC Fine arts and Graphics Gallery will be hosting a brand new exhibit called "Making a Mark" this coming January in Old Torrance, just south of Los Angeles. We encourage anyone and everyone to stop by and check it out, especially if you're from the South Bay! Our featured artists will be on site to interact with visitors and talk about their pieces, many of which will be available for purchase (but please don't feel pressured to do so). This is a great chance to have a good time and network/mingle with other artists and art enthusiasts in the LA area. Even if you're new to the art scene or just have nothing to do on a Saturday night, we would love for you to stop by and say "hello"! Our goal is bringing more attention to art in the South Bay and helping build a stronger art community in the area. We hope you will come and be a part of it! The exhibit kicks off with a reception Saturday, January 19th from 4-7 pm Admission is (of course) free to all APC Fine Arts and Graphics Gallery 1621 Cabrillo Ave, Torrance, CA 90501 (Located just west of the intersection of Western and Torrance blv) Featured artists are: Dan Dickman: dandickman.com/ Ron Libbrecht: apcgallerypages.wordpress.com/ron-libbrecht/ Dina Djabieva: facebook.com/ArtbyDinara
