Sunday, December 16, 2012 | 2:00 PM - 11:59 PM
Marsee Auditorium El Camino College Center for the Performing Arts
Under the artistic direction of Diane Lauridsen, nationally known South Bay Ballet delivers a holiday confection for savvy ballet audiences who are looking for impeccably trained artists and a creative, accessible interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s classic. Grandmother Clara tells the story of a young girl on Christmas Eve, dreaming a lush and vivid fantasy of her faithful Nutcracker Prince escorting her to the Kingdom of Sweets, where she becomes his beautiful, grown-up ballerina – and isn't that every girl’s Christmas wish?
Sunday, December 16, 2012 | 4:00 PM - 4:45 PM
Torrance Historical Society & Museum - 1345 Post Ave., Old Torrance`
The Torrance Historical Society will host a reading of the holiday classic - 'Twas the Night Before Christmas at the Museum. Children of all ages, and adults who are young at heart, are invited to this free event. Former Torrance City Councilman Paul Nowatka will cozy down in an antique wingback chair and delight listeners with this magical tale. At the sound of sleigh bells ringing, Santa will pay a visit. Each guest will leave with a treat (compliments of COSTCO), and one lucky winner will depart with their very own copy of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. Other guests will also have an opportunity to win a teddy bear.
