Class will include a walk in the Madrona Marsh Native Garden, where students can see some of the featured plants. Topic changes every month. Donations accepted. Starting June 1, 2012, 50 person limit for this program. You must register to attend. You may register on Saturdays at 12 noon or you may register by calling the Nature Center at; (310)782-3989. If you plan to attend with a group each person must individually sign up. If you no show after you have signed up, you may not sign up again for 2 weeks.
Join us for our restoration program every Saturday from 8:45 a.m. - 12 noon on the Preserve planting natives, weeding, propagating or maybe watering new plants. Wear closed toe shoes, bring gloves and be ready to work. Refreshments are provided. Rain cancels this program. Late comers will be sent away. If you are 15 years or younger you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Topics range from 'Edible Seeds and Berries' to 'Chaparrel Communities and Pruning Techniques'. After each presentation, Connie will lead the class through the Nature Center's Native Plant Garden to illustrate key points and further discussion. Handouts are included. This class is best for adults. Donations accepted.

Starting June 1, 2012, 50 person limit for this program. You must register to attend. You may register on Saturdays at 12 noon for the following Saturday or you may register by calling the Nature Center at; (310)782-3989. If you plan to attend with a group each person must individually sign up. If you no show after you have signed up, you may not sign up again for 2 weeks.
Join us for our restoration program every Saturday from 8:45 a.m. - 12 noon on the Preserve planting natives, weeding, propagating or maybe watering new plants. Wear closed toe shoes, bring gloves and be ready to work. Refreshments are provided. Rain cancels this program. Late comers will be sent away. If you are 15 years or younger you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Bring your own lawn chair, blankets, popcorn, hot chocolate, family, and friends to enjoy a movie about a strange journey into wonderland shown under the stars! Show begins at dusk (approximately 8 p.m.) but come early to get a good spot on the lawn, enjoy a picnic, and take advantage of the park on a warm summer night. Part of the Library's Dream Big READ! Summer Reading Program. This program is free, presented by the Community Services Department in association with local homeowners associatons.

Summer Parks: The City of Torrance Community Services Department invites the public to stop in for fun at the parks this Summer. Recreation staff will be leading and supervising activities and crafts at no cost! Young children should be accompanied by an adult, as this is a drop in program where children can come and go as they please.
