Who said children get to have all the fun? Join the Torrance Public Library's Adult Summer Reading Program! Pick up a reading game card at any Torrance Public Library and complete five activities. Return the game card by Saturday, July 28 to enter a drawing for gift cards or a Kindle Fire. Participate in a book club or other program including bookmaking, romance book discussions, and more! This program is free, sponosred by the Friends of the Torrance Library. Please contact your local Torrance Library for more information.

Recreation staff will be leading and supervising activities and crafts at no cost! Young children should be accompanied by an adult, as this is a drop in program where children can come and go as they please.
Parks will operate Monday, June 18, 2012 - Friday, August 17, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Join the Propagation Society and Linda Gonzales as we plant seeds for the future of the Preserve. Learn how to: prepare soil for planting on the Marsh, grow native plants for restoration and fund raising events at the Madrona Marsh, 'pot up' plants to larger containers, collect and 'clean' seeds and prune native plants in the nursery. This program occurs every Thursday. Best for Adults or College Age Students. FREE

Starting June 1, 2012, 50 person limit for this program. You must register to attend. You may register on Saturdays at 12 noon or you may register by calling the Nature Center at; (310)782-3989. If you plan to attend with a group each person must individually sign up. If you no show after you have signed up, you may not sign up again for 2 weeks.
Join us for our restoration program every Saturday from 8:45 a.m. - 12 noon on the Preserve planting natives, weeding, propagating or maybe watering new plants. Wear closed toe shoes, bring gloves and be ready to work. Refreshments are provided. Rain cancels this program. Late comers will be sent away. If you are 15 years or younger you must be accompnied by a parent or guardian.
