Join us for our restoration program every Saturday of every month from 8:45 a.m. - 12 noon on the Madrona Marsh Preserve planting natives, weeding, propagating or maybe watering new plants. Wear closed toe shoes, bring gloves and be ready to work. Refreshments are provided. Rain or a holiday that fall on a Saturday cancels this program. Be on time - late comers will not be able to work. Come and learn ways to reduce and recycle yard waste by composting, “grasscycling,” worm composting, and water-wise gardening at Torrance’s permanent composting and water-wise gardening demonstration site at Columbia Park. It is operated in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works.
The Beginning Workshop teaches backyard composting, worm composting, grass recycling, water-wise gardening, and fire-wise gardening.
