Also many of the great downtown restaurants and shops are open with Street Faire specials. Antique appraisals available by Dave Brownlee and his crew of experts for only $3.00 per item. The Street Faire celebrates 15 years in Oct. 2015. Rain or shine and pets welcome.

Torrance Historical Society & Museum - 1345 Post Ave., Old Torrance
This docent-led tour begins at the Torrance Historical Museum, and will point out a number of historic sites and landmarks of Old Torrance (founded 1912), along the way. You will also learn how the City and some of the streets in Downtown got their name, where the first public library originated, the original boundaries of the City, where Buffy the Vampire Slayer was filmed and more. The tour is an easy, but brisk walk covering eight blocks. It's open to the public, requires no reservations, and is hosted on the fourth Sunday of every month, May - October. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended -- bring your camera, and a friend!

LEARN TO BE WATER SAFE The Torrance-South Bay YMCA is hosting the national YMCA SPLASH Program on June 24-28. This unique swim program taught by certified swim instructors will teach children the skills to improve stroke, water safety and water fun in a caring environment. 5-day program with 60-minute lessons. 5 class times available.
