Did you decorate on the 2014 Torrance Rose Float? Have you ever decorated? Or are you a FAN of the Torrance Rose Float? Please join us to Celebrate and Appreciate our Torrance Rose Float Association Volunteers. On February 1, 2014 from 5:30 pm to 9 pm, join us at the Toyota Meeting Hall at 3330 Civic Center Dr, Torrance 90503. We will continue our FUNDRAISING with great opportunity drawing baskets .. a video review of the 2014 Float and it's decorators ... Thank you's to our volunteers .. a welcome to the 2014 TRFA Board of Directors ... and some tasty food from Lomeli's! Dinners are $15 per person. This WMoF Celebrity Series is a twofer. Not only the author/aerospace consultant and retired Vice President of Northrop-Grumman Michael V. Ciminera but there will also be a ***fully restored*** WW II Era Grumman Wildcat Fighter will be on display. Mr. Ciminera was "Grumman Iron Works." As a 50-year employee of Northrop-Grumman, Michael saw the "Gruman airplane" from concept to fruition. He'll give you the narrative version of this history as he recorded for his book, "The Aircraft Designers, A Grumman Historical Perspective" Don't forget you'll also have a chance to see up close and personal a fully restored WW II Era Wildcat Fighter. As always, WMoF Members are free; non-members are $5, which also includes access to WMoF museum exhibits. Free parking. For kids 5 and up (yep that means adults): The WMoF Series: Kids Science Make N’ Take – WWII Wildcat. (follows the Celebrity Series (1:00 – 3:00 PM). Build your own plastic model of a historical fighter aircraft produced by Grumman Corporation, Bethpage, Long Island. Make N Take Session includes free entry to the museum and guided tour. This event is presented with cooperation of Pacific Coast Hobbies whose staff will be on hand to assist with model building and answer technical questions. You can build as many models as you like. The cost for each model is $14 and it’s yours to keep! Please email the museum at info@wmof.com or call 310-326-9544 to make your reservation. Walk-ins are welcome. Pay at the door. Registration deadline is February 14th. Make ‘N Take Session attendees have free entry to the museum. The museum is located on Torrance Airport near the intersection of Zamperini Way and Airport Drive. Plenty of free parking in our lot which is directly in front of the museum.
