It is operated in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works. The Beginning Workshop teaches backyard composting, worm composting, grass recycling, water-wise gardening, and fire-wise gardening. The Advanced Workshop teaches organic gardening, the art and science of good soil, environmentally responsible ways to control pests, conserving water around the garden, and using native and drought-tolerant plants.
