The After School Program is geared towards youth in elementary and middle schools. This recreation program is designed to promote self-esteem through group interaction and self-expression. The program offers games, sports, music, group discussions, guest speakers and a wide variety of activities. Structured time is set aside for homework each day. This is not a tutorial based program.

This program is based on a ratio of one staff member per ten youth at Elementary School and one staff member per thirteen youth at Middle Schools. Enrollment is limited at all schools.

PLEASE NOTE: The After School Club Program is designed for Torrance Residents. Torrance residents will have the first opportunity to register for the program. After the resident registration, Non-Torrance residents will have an opportunity to register for any remaining spaces.

The After School Club Program follows the TUSD calendar and meets on campus Monday-Friday after school until 6:00 p.m. The program is offered at the following schools:

Join Cindy Reid every 4th Tuesday of every month from 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon (rain or shine) for a hands-on science nature class. Due to popularity this class will be repeated on Wednesday the 24th of this month from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Emphasis will be placed on caring for the natural world and being good stewards to the planet. This month's topic will be Spiders & Webs. The first hour will be in the classroom for stories, a craft and science including live animals or plants and microscope use. The second hour will be walking out on the marsh to search for the things that we just studied. You will need to register for each month, starting the first of that month. Only 12 children may attend each class. We will do our best to be fair. A wait list up to 4 children will be added in case on cancellations. The participating children may be signed-in and dropped off for the first hour, or the parents may watch quietly in the back of the classroom. No younger siblings will be allowed in the classroom, but they are welcome to join us for the marsh walk. Ages 6-8 years. $5 donation per student. Torrance Transit will kick off their Rapid and ExpressLanes bus services on Thursday, October 25 at 10:30 a.m. at the Del Amo Fashion Center parking lot in front or Macy’s on Carson St. in Torrance. The new Line 4 created as part of Metro’s ExpressLanes project on the I-110 Harbor Freeway will provide an express “North to South” service between the South Bay and downtown Los Angeles. The second new route is the new Line 3 Rapid, an “East to West” rapid bus service that will provide service between the South Bay Galleria and the Long Beach Transit Gallery. In celebration of the kick-off, Torrance Transit will be offering free rides on Thursday, October 25 and Friday, October 26 on Line 3 Rapid service only.

The After School Program is geared towards youth in elementary and middle schools. This recreation program is designed to promote self-esteem through group interaction and self-expression. The program offers games, sports, music, group discussions, guest speakers and a wide variety of activities. Structured time is set aside for homework each day. This is not a tutorial based program.

This program is based on a ratio of one staff member per ten youth at Elementary School and one staff member per thirteen youth at Middle Schools. Enrollment is limited at all schools.

PLEASE NOTE: The After School Club Program is designed for Torrance Residents. Torrance residents will have the first opportunity to register for the program. After the resident registration, Non-Torrance residents will have an opportunity to register for any remaining spaces.

The After School Club Program follows the TUSD calendar and meets on campus Monday-Friday after school until 6:00 p.m. The program is offered at the following schools:

"Friday Fun" is a hands-on program for preschoolers, ages 3-6 years and their parents or guardians. The program will be offered at no charge every Friday from 10-12:00 p.m. Please register Tuesdays for that weeks Friday Fun Program. The program will incorporate story time, science, art and a tour emphasizing the chosen topic. Some weeks there will also be potting or other activities. The topics emphasize respect for all living things and prepare children (and parents) to be good stewards of the planet. Free! Donations accepted. Pre-registration is required.
