Fall is the time that most of us prune our native plants. But do you wonder what to do with the cuttings? In this workshop we will use native plant cuttings to make a simple potpourri for the home. Experience the scents of our local native sages, sagebrush, Yarrow and other native plants. Then choose your favorites and make your own unique blend for a potpour. This workshop will get you thinking about your native plant trimmings in a whole new way! Drop in any time from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and enjoy this fun craft. Ages 12+ and above. Free! The Torrance Historical Society will host a reading of the holiday classic - 'Twas the Night Before Christmas at the Museum. Children of all ages, and adults who are young at heart, are invited to this free event. Former Torrance City Councilman Paul Nowatka will cozy down in an antique wingback chair and delight listeners with this magical tale. At the sound of sleigh bells ringing, Santa will pay a visit. Each guest will leave with a treat (compliments of COSTCO), and one lucky winner will depart with their very own copy of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. Other guests will also have an opportunity to win a teddy bear.

"Friday Fun" is a hands-on program for preschoolers, ages 3-6 years and their parents or guardians. The program will be offered at no charge every Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Best to register Tuesday morning for that week's Friday Fun Program. The program will incorporate story time, science, art and a tour emphasizing the chosen topic. Some weeks there will also be potting or other activities. The topics emphasize respect for all living things and prepare the children (and parents) to be good stewards of the planet. Pre-registration is required. Space is limited to 20 kids. Free!
