Join us for an evening with David Shan, Professor of Chinese and Japanese at El Camino College. He will introduce the information of the Chinese characters, one of the oldest kinds of written symbols that are still used every day by over one billion people. He will discuss how the Chinese characters relate to spoken dialects, and address such current issues as the debate on if the traditional scripts should be simplified.
This is a free event and recommended for ages 16 and over. Seating is limited and is first-come, first-seated.
