This amazing outdoor event explores the mysterious world of gasses. The show takes off with a wacky flying balloon, a bottle of club soda, and a surprising carbon dioxide geyser. The highlight of this event takes place when water bottle rockets are launched with air pressure, followed by fire-powered rockets, which travel 200 feet into the sky. This program is free, sponsored by the Friends of the Torrance Library, and will be held outdoors in Victor Park, adjacent to the Henderson Library. This spellbinding special event introduces children to the principles of air and pressure. Selected students will try their best to tame flying toilet paper and the audience will be amazed to see what happens when we combine dust, air, and a little flame. Hot air balloons, vortex generators, and even a hovercraft will help children understand the power of air.
